We’re seeking an experienced and hands-on Senior Product Marketing Specialist to lead market expansion efforts across the United States and Canada. This pivotal role connects product, marketing, and sales, requiring a unique blend of technical fluency, strategic thinking, and direct execution within the smart grid, cleantech, and utility markets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead market development for the North American utility sector, identifying high-value segments, customer needs, and partnership opportunities.
  • Analyze advanced smart grid and broadband-over-power-line (BPL) technologies to develop tailored, bundled solutions addressing US and Canadian market demands.
  • Engage directly with engineering and product teams, gaining deep working knowledge of technologies and providing customer and market insights.
  • Serve as a strategic bridge between product, marketing, and sales teams to align product roadmaps, messaging, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive go-to-market plans for North America, including positioning, messaging, and marketing collateral.
  • Travel up to 40% across the US, Canada, and select international markets to build customer relationships, support sales efforts, and participate in industry events.
  • Build and maintain a strong network of ecosystem partners, vendors, and integrators to enable seamless solution delivery.
  • Gather market intelligence and customer feedback to shape future product strategy and support sales enablement efforts.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in product marketing, solution marketing, sales engineering, or strategic business development — ideally within the utility, smart grid, energy, or cleantech sectors.
  • Ability to quickly understand and communicate complex hardware and software concepts in a customer-friendly manner.
  • Strong knowledge of US and Canadian utility market landscapes, including regulatory, operational, and procurement dynamics.
  • Skilled at building technical fluency within dynamic environments, working closely with engineering and product teams.
  • Experience crafting go-to-market strategies for highly technical products and translating those into compelling customer benefits.
  • Strong communication, storytelling, and executive presentation abilities.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 40% across North America and internationally.
  • Strong strategic mindset combined with hands-on execution capabilities.

Compensation

Annual base salary of up to $150,000 CAD, plus performance-based incentives and commissions. Final compensation will be commensurate with experience, education, and performance.
