Primary Responsibilities
- Install solar PV systems on residential rooftops, commercial buildings, and ground-mount sites
- Maintain a strong focus on crew and site safety, including proper use of PPE and fall protection
- Interpret design drawings and ensure high-quality workmanship
- Distribute materials and handle solar panels (up to 60 lbs)
- Use hand and power tools to install solar racking and modules
- Mentor apprentices and contribute to a supportive team culture
- Maintain site cleanliness and professional communication with customers
Qualifications – Must Haves
- Journeyperson Electrician Certificate (recognized in Alberta) – Red Seal is a strong asset
- Experience with medium and high voltage terminations
- Physically fit and capable of lifting and carrying solar panels (60 lbs)
- Comfortable working on ladders and roofs (varied slopes)
- Able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Valid Class 5 driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Willing to occasionally travel for out-of-town projects
- Minimum CLB 7 English level for safety communication
Preferred Assets (Nice to Have)
- Experience in solar panel installation
- Solar certifications or training (SAIT, NAIT, NABCEP, SEI, etc.)
- Fall Protection Certification (training can be provided)
- Roofing experience (residential or commercial)
