Field Service Technician – CNC Machinery (Woodworking)

Overview:
A leading North American distributor of industrial woodworking equipment is seeking a skilled and motivated Field Service Technician to join its technical services team based in Delta, BC. This role focuses on the installation, repair, and maintenance of CNC-controlled woodworking machines at customer locations throughout the assigned territory.

Key Responsibilities:
- Equipment Service & Technical Support
Install, repair, and upgrade advanced CNC woodworking machines at customer sites or in-house. - Troubleshoot issues in real time, performing diagnostics and repairs involving electrical, electronic, pneumatic, and servo-controlled systems.
- Maintain up-to-date technical certifications and training related to the company’s machinery lines.
- Document all work accurately via service reports, time logs, and expense forms.
- Collaborate with internal teams and equipment manufacturers for issue escalation and resolution.
- Customer Interaction
Conduct thorough equipment demonstrations and machine start-ups. - Deliver hands-on customer training focused on safe operation, preventative maintenance, and machine capabilities.
- Provide ongoing support and follow-up to ensure customer satisfaction post-installation.
- Create clear, timely installation and service reports.
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Field Service Technician or Equipment Service Tech.
- Technical diploma or certification from a recognized post-secondary institution.
- Strong mechanical skills with proven knowledge of CNC, PLCs, electronics, and pneumatics.
- Previous experience with woodworking machinery is a strong asset.
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and digital documentation tools.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple work orders and deadlines.
- Additional Requirements:
Willingness to travel for onsite installations and repairs. - Ability to work on-site at customer locations, occasionally outside of regular hours.
- Physically fit to handle machine installations and prolonged periods of concentration or computer work.
